Red Oak, IA Wilma Marie Pendergraft, age 87, of Red Oak, Iowa formerly of Denver, Colorado and Amarillo, Texas passed away Monday, May 4, 2009 at her residence in Red Oak after an extended illness. Wilma Marie Pendergraft was born Jun e 13, 1921 in El Reno, Oklahoma the daughter of Clarence and Maude (Detweiler) Wiard. She was united in marriage to Walton Andrews and to this union a daughter, Linda was born. Walton preceded her in death in 1981. She later was united in marriage to Penny Pendergraft and he preceded her in death in 1984. Wilma was a lifelong resident of Amarillo, Texas until moving to Denver in 1992. She then moved to Red Oak two years ago. Wilma was a nurse all her life in Texas and while in Denver she volunteered at a Swedish hospital. Wilma was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Pilot Club in Amarillo, and the Business and Professional Women.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; and two sisters: Margaret Tolbert and Dorothy Lawhon. Survivors include her daughter: Linda Schaefer and husband Robert of Red Oak, Iowa; grandchildren: Brandon Hurja and wife Natanha of Aurora, Colorado; Suzannah Hurja of Tucson, Arizona; Kristy Razee and husband Aaron of Imogene, Iowa; Joe Schaefer of Wheatridge, Colorado; and Wade Schaefer of Denver, Colorado; great grandchildren: Kylie Henson of Aurora, Colorado; Shore Hurja of Los Angeles, California; Keelee Razee of Imogene, Iowa; and Alex Razee of Imogene, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside memorial services will take place at a later date in Amarillo, Texas.
Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel, Red Oak, Iowa, is in charge of local arrangements.
