Birthplace: Council Bluffs, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa William D. Johnson, age 50, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. William Douglas Johnson was born January 2, 1963 in Council Bluffs, Iowa the son of Charles and Marilyn (Tomlinson) Johnson. He was raised in Council Bluffs and lived in Omaha working for Greyhound Bus Lines. William was united in marriage to Karen Fiarkoski on September 19, 1992 in Omaha, Nebraska. They moved to Red Oak in 1999 where William worked for CDS Global and then Barnes Painting. He retired in 2008 due to health problems. William enjoyed being outdoors fishing and camping, watching gameshows on TV, working crossword puzzles, and was an avid Creighton Blue Jays fan. Preceding him in death were his parents and sister: Lorie Lynn Johnson. Survivors include his wife: Karen Johnson of Red Oak, Iowa; children: Brandon, Emily, and John Johnson all of RedOak, Iowa; grandson: Douglas Johnson of Red Oak, Iowa; brothers and sisters: Randall and Dennis Johnson of Red Oak, Iowa; Candus Lutz and husband Rick of Spring, TX; Susan Faris and husband Steve and Jennifer Osbahr and husband Russ all of Council Bluffs, Iowa; half-brother: James Betchel; father-in-law and mother-in-law: John and Marietta Fiarkoski of Rockport, Texas; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Donna Fiarkoski of Elkhorn, Nebraska; John Fiarkoski, Jr and wife Beth of Overland Park, Kansas; Paul Fiarkoski and wife Wendi of Phoenix, Arizona; and Amy Hilt and husband Scott of Omaha, Nebraska; many cousins including a special cousin: Kim Stewart of Omaha, Nebraska; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 2 PM Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. JoAnn Thomas officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family of William Johnson. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
