Birthplace: Ridgeway, MO Resided In: Red Oak, IA William Dale "Bill" Crabtree, age 74, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Bill was born May 12, 1943 in Ridgeway, Missouri the son of Hogue and Vesta (Carter) Crabtree. He graduated from Ridgeway High School in 1962 and moved to Red Oak, Iowa where he was a Fuller Brush Salesman. He was united in marriage to Shirlene Brown McKenzie on May 21, 1965 in Fremont, Nebraska. They made their home in Red Oak where Bill worked for McAlpin Motors and then Joyce Brothers NAPA Auto Parts Store. He later bought the business running it for many years. Most recently, Bill worked for Empire Construction. Bill loved cars. He drove in many demolition derbies throughout the years and also loved restoring old cars. He had a green thumb and always had a wonderful garden. Bill was a longtime member of the Red Oak Elks Lodge. Preceding him in death were his parents; an infant son; wife: Shirlene Crabtree on July 30, 1999; and daughter: LaDonna Focht. Survivors include his companion of many years: Laura Olson of Red Oak, IA; children: Deb Liebig and husband Mike of Gretna, NE; Mark Focht and wife Michelle of Villisca, IA; Teresa Brejnik and husband Randy of Missouri; Tammy Chapman and husband Dennis of Missouri; and Tena Crabtree of Kansas; grandchildren: Andrew Focht and wife Karla of Villisca, IA; Aaron Focht and wife Rachelle of Villisca, IA; Lindsay Sunderman of Lincoln, NE; Ryan Focht of Villisca, IA; Shelby Sunderman and fiancé Blake Bouckhuyt of Omaha, NE; Amanda Focht of Villisca, IA; Cassady Sunderman of Omaha, NE; Amanda Askey of Council Bluffs, IA; Drew Askey of Red Oak, IA; Ricky Chapman, Brandon Chapman, Robert Leslie, and Brandi Abbott all of Missouri; many many great grandchildren; brothers: Norman Crabtree of Washington, D.C. and Gary Crabtree and wife Katy of Pleasant Hill, MO; sister: Marjorie Wells and husband Jack of Nashville, TN; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Elks PER Fund. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
