Birthplace: Coburg, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Willard E. Anderson, age 93, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Willard Emanuel Anderson was born March 16, 1914 in Coburg, Iowa the son of Luther and Lera (Wilson) Anderson. The family lived south of Red Oak until Willard was six years old when they moved northwest of Red Oak. He attended school in Red Oak and later started farming. He was united in marriage to Ethel Rhodes on February 24, 1943 in Omaha, Nebraska. They lived and farmed all of their lives northwest of Red Oak, Iowa. Willard was a longtime member of the Red Oak Elks Lodge #1304 and always enjoyed having coffee with his friends. He also enjoyed just going for rides and looking at the countryside. Preceding him in death were his parents and brother: Leroy Anderson. Survivors include his wife: Ethel Anderson of Red Oak, Iowa; son: Dr. Ron Anderson and wife Mary of Jackson, Missouri; daughter: Rita Martinez and husband Richard of St. Joseph, Missouri; grandchildren: Cami Pisoni and husband Paul of Parkville, Missouri; Andrea Peters and husband Steve of St. Louis, Missouri; Ryan Anderson and fiancé Lyndsy of Kansas City, Missouri; Jeff Martinez of St. Joseph, Missouri; and Heather Martinez of St. Joseph, Missouri; 9 great grandchildren; sisters: Marjorie Gould of Granbury, Texas and Phyllis Osterholm of Junction City, Kansas; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Al Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Monday, March 10, 2008 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. There will also be a visitation time one hour prior to the funeral. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
