Birthplace: Preston, Missouri Resided In: Emerson, Iowa Willa Lou Mabary, age 78, of Emerson, Iowa, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2007, at the Stanton Care Center in Stanton, Iowa. Willa Lou Wilson was born May 25, 1928, in Preston, Missouri, the daughter of Charles P. and Nina May (Mitchell) Wilson. At age 12, she was converted and joined the Methodist Church at Preston, Missouri. She graduated from high school in Preston, Missouri. On September 18, 1943, she was united in marriage to James E. "Jack" Mabary. Jack and Willa Lou moved to the Emerson area in March 1949. Children born include Shirley, Jerry, Rick and Robin. Willa Lou and Jack farmed all of their lives near Emerson. Willa Lou was a member of the Oaks Community Church for many years and later the Emerson United Methodist Church. Willa's faith and service to her churches throughout the years were important aspects of her life. Willa was passionate about her family, sewing, quilting, gardening and angels. She was a member of the Emerson Chapter #121 Order of Eastern Star, serving as a Worthy Matron. Other organizations which she has been involved in include the Red Hat Society, Jolly Janes and the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Preceding her in death were her parents and an infant brother Jerry Rue. Willa Lou is survived by her husband Jack Mabary; children Shirl Mabary, Jerry Mabary, Rob Mabary and wife Patrice, all of Littleton, Colorado; Rick Mabary and wife Sarah of Emerson; 10 grandchildren Jill Mabary, Jeffrey Hager and fiancée Laura Williams, Bradley Hager, Nicholas Hager, Daniel Mabary, Leah Mabary and Stephen Mabary, all of Littleton, Colorado; Jenny Mabary and fiancé Adam Van Der Vliet of Iowa City, Iowa, Jared Mabary of Beatrice, Nebraska, and Elizabeth Mabary of Emerson; step-grandchildren Eric Light, Lauren Light, and Danielle Light of Littleton, Colorado; sister Pat Allen and husband Tom of Preston, Missouri; brother Stanley Wilson and wife Judy of Preston, Missouri; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Willa Lou inspired all her knew her. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at the Emerson United Methodist Church with Pastor Pam Flanigan officiating. Burial will be in the Emerson Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Emerson United Methodist Church. Eastern Star Services will be conducted at 7 PM Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with visitation to follow. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel, Red Oak, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
