Obituary

Birthplace: Brooks, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Wayne H. Triplett, age 70, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 8, 2010. Wayne Henry Triplett was born April 12, 1940 in Brooks, Iowa the son of Russell Rhodes and Ruth (Meyers) Triplett. He attended school in Brooks, Iowa and later served in the Iowa Army National Guard. Wayne was united in marriage to Evelyn Everett on June 4, 1960 in Red Oak, Iowa. Two children were born to this union: Teresa and Kevin. Over the years, Wayne worked for Red Oak Transfer, Milgrove Sanitation Service, and Union Carbide. He was united in marriage to Tammy Ridenour on March 20, 1985 in Red Oak, Iowa. A daughter was born to this union: Jessica. He was later united in marriage to Phyllis Grinstead on October 5, 1991 in Red Oak, Iowa. Wayne worked for Eveready Battery Company until the early 1990's when he retired. He was a former Red Oak Eagles Lodge member, a member of the Harley Owners Group (HOG), and raced stock cars at the Adams County Speedway earning the distinction of being the 1972 Points Champion. Preceding Wayne in death were his parents and brother: Donald Triplett. Survivors include his children: Teresa Nelson and husband Jeff; Kevin Triplett; and Jessica Triplett all of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Travis Nelson of Omaha, NE; Levi Triplett; Jordan Nelson; and Mylee Echternach all of Red Oak, IA; sister: Joan Hunt and husband Don of Lake Havasu, AZ; brother: Earl Triplett of Tennessee; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 2 PM Monday, September 13, 2010 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Len Taylor officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 4-6 PM Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
