Obituary

Birthplace: Winfield, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Warren Lee Miller, age 90, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Warren was born April 13, 1930 in Winfield, Iowa, the son of Cecil and Pansy (Lee) Miller. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and served in the United States Air Force, stationed north of Fairbanks, Alaska, checking radar at Murphy's Dome during the Korean war. Upon the completion of his service, he moved to Red Oak, Iowa, where he farmed on the family farm. He was united in marriage to Ruth Alm on October 17, 1959 in Griswold, Iowa. They lived all of their married life on the same farm where they grew crops and raised livestock. He was a member of the Stratton United Methodist Church and the Buckles and Bows Square Dancing group for many years. His passion was farming. Preceding him in death were his parents; sister: Geraldine Davis; wife: Ruth Miller on April 30, 2017; and sister-in-law: Joanna Brokaw. Survivors include his children: Tina Miller and Steve Miller of Red Oak; brother-in-law: Gus Alm of Nyman, IA; sister-in-law: Myrna Headley of Council Bluffs, IA; nephews and nieces: Kevin Alm of Nyman, IA; Joyce Nichols of Boston, MA; Dee Soda and husband Pete of Omaha, NE; Linda Shuler and husband Bill of Corning, IA; and Mitch Jensen and wife Ruth of Minneapolis, MN; and other relatives and many friends. A private family graveside service will be held on Monday, November 23, 2020 at Evergreen Cemetery. There will be an open viewing on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel from 10 AM - 5 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association or Stratton United Methodist Church. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Social distancing and wearing masks is required. We will be following all current guidelines for Covid 19.
