Birthplace: Hamburg, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Wade J. Dimmitt, age 88, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Red Oak Healthcare Community. Wade was born November 15, 1926 in Hamburg, Iowa the son of Wade and Minnie Dimmitt. He graduated from Hamburg High School and served in the United States Army during WWII. Upon his return from service, Wade moved to California where he lived for 5 years. He was united in marriage to Donna Jane Finnell. They had two children: David and Deb. Wade owned Wade's Town Talk Service Station in Boone, Iowa from 1960 until 1971 when they moved to Red Oak, Iowa where Wade worked for JD Oil Company and later Parker Hannifin. Donna preceded him in death and Wade was united in marriage to Lois Gibson Lovig on December 30, 1977. Wade was a former Elks Lodge member who enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and working on his vehicles. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife: Donna Jane Dimmitt; daughter: Deb Dimmitt; sister: Betty Anderson; and brother: Robert Dimmitt. Survivors include his wife: Lois Dimmitt of Red Oak, IA; son: Dave Dimmitt and wife Helen of Voorheesville, NY; step-children: Barry Lovig and wife Lisa of Red Oak, IA; Kay Howard and husband Nick of St. Joseph, MO; and Jan Lovig of Shenandoah, IA; grandchildren: Sara Dimmitt of Brooklyn, NY; Ryan Dimmitt of Voorheesville, NY; and Chris Dimmitt of Voorheesville, NY; brother: Richard Dimmitt and wife Juanita of Siloam Springs, AR; and may other relatives and friends. There will be no services at this time and burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
