Vicky Lou Putnam, age 77, of Henderson, Iowa, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak. Vicky was born August 20, 1946, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the daughter of Gola B. and Wilma L. (Trede) Wilber. She was raised in Henderson and graduated from Nishna Valley High School in 1964. She worked at the Glenwood State School and cleaned houses before her marriage to Duane "Pat" Putnam on February 18, 1967, in Henderson. She raised her family and then went to work for Treynor State Bank where she worked until her retirement in 2020. She was a longtime member of the Henderson Christian Church, the Nishna Valley Women's Club, and the Mother's Club. Vicky enjoyed square dancing, baking, singing, playing cards, gardening, and canning. She raised chickens and cattle and took food to area farmers while they were in the field harvesting. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Pat Putnam. Survivors include her children: Kimberly Putnam of Red Oak, IA; Todd Putnam of Macedonia, IA; Sheila Lloyd and husband William of Henderson, IA; Troy Putnam and wife Adria of Treynor, IA; and Jeremy Putnam and wife Rayna of Elliott, IA; grandchildren: Makayla Hudson and friend Ricardo Mendez of Red Oak, IA; Kaylie Putnam and friend Matt Gusman of Red Oak, IA; Bryan Putnam and friend Kaylee Rowan of Red Oak, IA; Chanelle Bush of Malvern, IA; Dillon Lloyd and wife Jamie of Sidney, IA; Casey Lloyd of Nehawka, NE; Alisha Rath and husband Austin of Treynor, IA; Rhianna Meinke and fiance Allen of Treynor, IA; Korey Pressgrove of Treynor, IA; Jacob Putnam and friend Rylee Maxwell of Clarinda, IA; Jillian Putnam of Shenandoah, IA; Colten Tasto and friend Sophie Brockman of Seattle, WA; and Caven Myers of Elliott, IA; 16 great grandchildren with one on the way; sisters: Rogene Owens of Red Oak, IA; Verla Morris and husband Virgil of Brownsville, OR; and Joyce Harrill of Thornton, CO; brother: Gola Wilber and wife Zennith of Hastings, IA; sisters-in-law: Linda King of Hancock, IA and Karen Sorensen of Calumet, OK; many nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Henderson Christian Church in Henderson, Iowa. Burial will be in the Farm Creek Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Friday, November 10, 2023, at the Henderson Christian Church in Henderson, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the family.
