Trudy Lu Nelson, age 69, of Clarinda, Iowa, formerly of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the Clarinda Medical Center. Trudy was born September 14, 1954, in Corning, Iowa, the daughter of Mervin and Nadine Nelson. Her family moved to Red Oak the following year. After graduating high school in Red Oak, Trudy moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. The following year, she moved to Independence, Missouri for five years and returned to Red Oak to be near her family. She moved to Omaha in 1983 where she worked for eight years. Trudy spent the next years between Olathe, Kansas, Red Oak, Iowa, and Clarinda, Iowa.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother: Jeffrey Nelson; sister: Terry Maly; and nephew: Kirk Nelson. Survivors include her brothers: Vance Nelson and wife Dang of Clarinda, IA and Todd Nelson of Clarinda, IA; brother-in-law: Gary Maly of Lincoln, NE; nieces: Alisa Eichorn and husband Doug of Jefferson City, MO; Cheyanne Uhlenberg and husband Alex of Nevada, IA; and Shelby Nelson of Villisca, IA; nephew: Jason Maly and wife Robyn of Lincoln, NE; and other relatives and many friends.

Graveside memorial services will be held 1 PM Friday, May 3, 2024, at the Bethesda Cemetery at Bethesda, Iowa.
