Birthplace: Pensacola, Florida Resided In: Omaha, NE formerly Elliott, IA Timothy Grant Turner, 46 of Omaha, NE was taken away to be with the Lord on July 2, 2010 in a tragic airplane accident in Niceville, Florida while flying with his brother in law, Timothy McDonald who was also lost in the accident . Tim was born in Pensacola, Florida on January 30, 1964, to Philip "Larry" and Judy Turner. Tim graduated from Griswold High School in 1982 and from Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs with a degree in aircraft mechanics. Following his service in the US Marine Corps in Japan, Tim settled in Omaha, NE. He began working for Pentzien Corporation driving semi's, and then moved to hauling heavy equipment for Foltz pipelines. Recently, he had been working for Hawkins Construction in Omaha. In addition, Tim was a member of Teamsters Local 541. Tim married the love of his life Julie Beckerman on New Year's Eve, 2005 in Omaha, NE. They loved to camp, travel, play with their dog Max, and spend time with family and friends. Tim truly loved being with his family. Tim is survived by his wife, Julie, his son Grant Turner of Omaha, parents, Larry and Judy Turner of Elliott, IA; and Mother in law, Marjorie Beckerman of Omaha, NE. Tim leaves behind two Sisters; Mary (Jan) McDonald of Niceville, FL and Elizabeth Lemelin and husband David of North Pole, AK; He also had four Brothers: Mike Simpkins of Tucson, AZ; James Turner and wife Julie of Adel, IA; Philip Turner and wife Becky of Columbus, NE; Nicholas Turner and wife Kimberly of Stafford, VA. Also included are six nephews, six nieces and a great niece. He also leaves behind; brother-in-law, Dale Beckerman and wife Kate of Prairie City, KS; sister in law Diane Freeman and husband Dave of Lenexa, KS and two nieces, a nephew, and many other relatives and friends. Tim was preceded in death by grandparents, Philip and Viola Turner of Elliott, IA and Lohrman and Margaret C. Egge of South Florida Memorial services and celebration of life will be held 11 AM Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the Elliott Church of Christ in Elliott, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the Family of Timothy Turner. There will also be a visitation with the family from 6-8 PM Sunday, July 11, 2010 at the Roeder Mortuary at 108th and Maple Streets in Omaha, Nebraska. A celebration of life service will be held 10:30 AM Monday, July 12, 2010 at the Roeder Mortuary in Omaha. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak, Iowa and Roeder Mortuary of Omaha, Nebraska in charge of arrangements.
