Birthplace: Omaha, Nebraska Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Timothy J. McCarthy, age 38, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2002 at his residence. Timothy Joseph McCarthy was born December 25, 1963 in Omaha, Nebraska the son of Dr. John and Helen (Goranson) McCarthy. He was raised in Omaha and graduated from the Omaha Technical High School in 1982. He then moved to Red Oak where he started farming in the family farming operation. Tim was a member of the Nishnabotna Yacht Club. He enjoyed his motorcycles, fishing, cooking, baking, and entertaining at his Memorial Day celebration. Tim was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his 2 brothers: Edward McCarthy of Omaha, Nebraska; and John McCarthy and his wife Greta of Red Oak, Iowa; sister: Kathleen McCarthy-Baker and her husband Marvin of Corning, Iowa; 4 half-brothers: Patrick McCarthy and his wife Marilyn of Omaha, Nebraska; Jack McCarthy of Omaha, Nebraska; Stephen McCarthy of Plattsmouth, Nebraska and Kelly McCarthy of Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska; a step-mother Kathlyn McCarthy of Ft. Calhoun,Nebraska; a step-sister, Amy Becker and her husband Thomas of Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska; a step-brother, Guy Barta of Blair, Nebraska; two nieces, Kaitlin Buscher and Hannah Baker of Corning, Iowa; nephew, Zachary McCarthy of Red Oak, Iowa; and step-nieces Mary Beth and Anna Becker of Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska. Memorial services will be held 2 PM Saturday, November 16, 2002 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dr. Eric Kutzli officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Rescue Unit. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
