Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Wilber, Nebraska Thomas M. Templeton, age 61, of Wilber, Nebraska formerly of Elliott, Iowa passed away Monday, June 7, 2004 at the Crete Hospital in Crete, Nebraska after a sudden illness. Thomas Milton Templeton was born June 1, 1943 in Red Oak, Iowa the son of William and Jean (Peterson) Templeton. He was raised in the Elliott area and graduated from Elliott High School in 1961. Tom was united in marriage to Barbara Bates in 1961 and to this union was born a daughter: Ann. Tom was later united in marriage to Peggy Farrington and to this union 3 sons were born: Walker, Billy and Tommy. Tom lived in many different places over the years including Oklahoma, Texas, and most recently Wilber, Nebraska where he worked for the Blue River Ranch. Tom was a rodeo enthusiast for many years. He was preceded in death by his father: William E. Templeton in 1965; brother: Bill Templeton in 1978; and sister: Shirley Berry in 1998. Survivors include his daughter: Ann Jones and husband Mike of Griswold, Iowa; 3 sons: Walker Templeton of Portland, Oregon; Billy Templeton of Bozeman, Montana; and Tommy Templeton of Kalspill, Montana; 3 grandchildren; Mother: Jean Kerr and husband Donald of Manilla, Iowa; sister: Diane Carspecken and husband Dick of Atlantic, Iowa; 7 nieces and nephews: Dave Berry of Elliott, Iowa; Sue Berry of Griswold, Iowa; Heather Baker and husband Larry of Rochester, Minnesota; Holly Hinrichs and husband David of San Clemente, California; Melissa Link and husband Tim of Tennessee; Jeb Templeton of New York; and Travis Templeton of Griswold, Iowa; many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, June 10, 2004 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Cremation will take place after the service and burial of the ashes will be at a later date. A memorial fund is being established. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
