Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Rural Emerson, Iowa Terry Robert Lister, age 59, of Emerson, Iowa, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society in Red Oak. Terry was born January 17, 1958 in Red Oak, Iowa the son of William and Ruby (Shaffer) Lister. He graduated from Red Oak High School in 1976. Over the years, Terry farmed, drove truck, and operated Lister Propane. He was known to be a conservationists and loved seeding native grasses and wildflowers. He was also a true no till farmer. Terry always loved doing mechanic work and loved Oliver tractors. He was known for his knowledge and helped many people with their machinery needs. He drove truck until recently when his health no longer allowed. He hauled tractors, machinery, and grain. Terry also was known for his sense of humor and loved telling jokes. Preceding him in death was his father: William Lister. Survivors include his son: Kyle Yeager of Red Oak; mother: Ruby Lister of Red Oak; sister: Karen Breen and husband Terry of Omaha, NE; brother: Richard Lister and wife Mary of Red Oak; niece: Robin Lister of Des Moines, IA; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Indian Creek Museum. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
