Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Rural Emerson, Iowa Susan Kay "Sue" Wagaman, age 45, of Emerson, Iowa passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak after an extended illness. Susan Kay "Sue" Wagaman was born October 20, 1960 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Dwaine and Helen (Lake) Long. She was raised in Montgomery County, Iowa and graduated from Red Oak High School in 1979 as Valedictorian. She then attended Iowa Western Community College in Clarinda, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Jerry Wagaman on July 11, 1980 in Red Oak, Iowa. They have lived all of their married life in Montgomery County, Iowa. Sue worked for the Red Oak Community Schools for the past 26 years. She was currently the Business Manager. Sue was a member of the Hawthorne United Methodist Church. She was involved with youth sports, coached club sports, and coached volleyball for the 8th grade team for 12 years. Sue loved to water ski and boating at Lake of the Ozarks and Beaver Lake. But most of all, she loved her family! Sue was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father: Dwaine Long; her uncle: Jim Lake; and her father-in-law: Jim Wagaman. Survivors include her husband: Jerry Wagaman of Emerson, Iowa; two daughters: Dani Wagaman of Warrensburg, Missouri and Lindsey Wagaman of Emerson, Iowa; mother: Helen Long of Emerson, Iowa; brother: Dale Long and wife Kim of Omaha, Nebraska; nephews: Kyle Long and Bobbi of Scotts Bluff, Nebraska and J.D. Long and Brenda of Omaha, Nebraska; mother-in-law: Janie Elwood and husband Dale of Red Oak, Iowa; brother-in-law: Jim Wagaman and wife Patti and their family of Red Oak, Iowa; sister-in-law: Teresa Hossle and husband Fred and their family of Red Oak, Iowa; aunts and uncles: Ron and Susan Long of Osage Beach, Missouri; Bunny Lake of Torrance, California; Bill Lake and wife Audy of Henderson, Nevada; and Elsie Lake of Nixa, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, May 27, 2006 at the Red Oak High School Auditorium with Rev. Craig Larsen officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Friday, May 26, 2006 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, the Tag-A-Long Booster Club, or the Omaha Quakes Softball Association. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
