Sue Allen, age 77, of Stanton, Iowa, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024, at the Arlington Place Assisted Living in Red Oak, Iowa. Sue was born November 6, 1946, in Alliance, Nebraska, the daughter of Alexander and Evadean (McCool) Loomis. She graduated from Alliance High School in 1964 and received her LPN training. Later in life she received her RN from Jennie Edmundson School of Nursing and her master's degree from University of Nebraska Medical School in Nursing Informatics. Over the years, Sue lived in Ogallala and Hershey, Nebraska before moving to Iowa. She lived in Atlantic and Guthrie Center before moving to Stanton in 1973. Sue retired from Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in 2014 after 40 plus years of service. She attended church with her family in Creston, Iowa, for many years and was a member of the Red Oak Altrusa Club. She was an avid reader and Nebraska Cornhusker fan. Sue enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, painting on canvas, antiquing, and attending all of her kids and grandkids events.

Preceding her in death were her parents and brother, Jim Loomis. Survivors include her children: Brent Allen and wife Tonya of Rapid City, SD; Shauna Graham and husband John of Hamilton, MO; and Danette Gohlinghorst and husband Dan of Griswold, IA; grandchildren: Brandon Allen and wife Elizabeth of Hermosa, SD; Caleb Graham and wife Marissa of Hamilton, MO; Colin Graham and wife Jill of Cameron, MO; Jacob Graham and wife Emiley of Hamilton, MO; Hannah Graham of Liberty, MO; Abby Gohlinghorst of Griswold, IA; and Sadie Gohlinghorst of Griswold, IA; great grandchildren: Brayden and Braxdyn Allen of Hermosa, MO; Colton and Kinsley Graham of Hamilton, MO; and Lydia Graham of Cameron, MO; siblings: Ron Loomis and wife Sue of Arvada, CO; Rich Loomis and wife Peg of Edgewater, NM; Karen Perry and husband Larry of Twin Bridges, MT; Linda Kennicutt and husband Alan of Alliance, NE; Donna Perry and husband Keith of Twin Bridges, MT; and Dan Loomis and wife Pam of Morrilton, AR; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Mission Covenant Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Friday, September 27, 2024, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel.  Memorials are suggested to the Arlington Place Assisted Living Memory Care Unit.
