Steven Godbout, age 33, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed away January 21, 2023, after suffering a stroke. Steven was born February 13, 1989, in Garner, North Carolina, the son of Jeff Godbout and Peggy Adkins. He joined the United States Army at age nineteen and served as a Satellite Transportable Terminal Operator, deployed to Iraq twice, once in 2008 and again in 2010. Currently, Steven was a contractor with the Naval Criminal Investigation Services working with information technology in Quantico, Virginia.

Steven was preceded in death by his brother, Tony. Survivors include his parents: Jeff Godbout of Red Oak, Iowa; Peggy Adkins of Garner, North Carolina; brother: Charles Cornwell of Garner, North Carolina; grandparents: Ron and Mary Ellen Godbout of Red Oak, Iowa; and other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service with military honors will be held at later date at the national cemetery in Virginia.
