Birthplace: Red OaK, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Steven Eugene Frink, age 56, of Henderson, Iowa passed away of natural causes at his home on January 1, 2017. Steve was born November 28, 1960 in Red Oak, the second child of Lawrence and Bonnie (Brown) Frink. Steve grew up on a farm near Henderson. He started school at Henderson Community School and in 1979 graduated from Nishna Valley Community School in Hastings. Steve spent his entire working career in the farm industry. He started at Slump and Steiner Fertilizer Company and finished at John Deere Implement in Macedonia. He embodied the Frink name, tough on the outside but had a heart of gold. Steve would help out anyone who called or needed it, whether it was helping out someone on his off hours with broken down machinery, lending a hand to mow the cemetery before Memorial Day, or caring enough to help clean up the town of Henderson in which he lived. These deeds represent the great man that he was. He enjoyed spending time with family and in recent years got back into fur trapping in the winter. Steve will be missed more than he will ever know. He will be remembered among other things as a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and great uncle. He is survived by his son, Skylar Frink of Tucson, AZ, his daughter, Stephanie Frink of Cedar Falls, his mother, Bonnie Frink of Red Oak, his brother, Larry and Kim Frink of Malvern, his brother, Jim and Madolyn Frink of Henderson, his sister, Lisa and Bryan Huff of Emerson, his sister, Wendy and Brian Papenberg of West Des Moines, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Frink, his paternal grandparents C.A. and Helen Frink, and maternal grandparents James and Cordelia Brown. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa. Interment will be into the Farm Creek Cemetery at Henderson, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Henderson Fire Department. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
