Shirley Dianae Johnson, age 71, of Elliott, Iowa passed away, Monday, January 13, 2025, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa. Shirley was born April 8, 1953, in Clarinda, Iowa, the daughter of Ivan and Ina Mae (Null) Johnson. Shirley grew up near Bethesda and Clarinda, Iowa where she attended school. She later moved to Villisca and she met Ron Welchman from Blue Grass, Iowa. Shirley moved to Blue Grass, Iowa where she worked at Vanderveer Park and Lewis Machines. She later moved to Elliott and worked at NSK and Lisle Corporation in Clarinda. She retired from Johnson Controls. Shirley was a hard worker. She enjoyed gardening, shopping at thrift stores, constructing jigsaw puzzles, was a practical joker and loved her family.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Ron; siblings: Donna Johnson, Joyce Hamm, Gary Deardorff and Lela Law; brothers-in-law: Paul Reinhart and Bob Law; sisters-in-law: Wanda Johnson and Harriett Deardorff. Her survivors include: her daughter: Robin Johnson of Oklahoma; grandson: Dylan Knight of Oklahoma; siblings: Dolores Sprague of Liberty, Missouri; Debbie Reinhart of Brooklyn, Michigan; Patti Haley and husband Terry of Villisca, Iowa; Ivan Johnson of Griswold, Iowa; Lora Johnson of Villisca, Iowa; and David Smith and wife Ann of Villisca, Iowa; her dog: Millie; and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 18, 2025, at LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa. Burial will be in the Villisca Cemetery at a later date. Visitation and viewing with the family will be held one hour before the service at the LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Montgomery County Animal Alliance Rescue or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
