Birthplace: Creston, IA Resided In: Nebraska City, NE Shaun Allen Akers, age 41, of Nebraska City, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at his home. Shaun was born April 16, 1978 in Creston, Iowa. He was raised in the Omaha area and was a mechanic for many years. Over the years he also lived in Sidney, Iowa and Percival, Iowa before moving to Nebraska City recently. Shaun was united in marriage to Jennifer DuFrasne and one child was born to this union: Shaun. Shaun's true passion was cars. He loved to tinker with them and was a good mechanic. He loved Ford Mustangs. Preceding him in death were his grandfather: Duane Akers and cousin: Danette Harman-Akers. Survivors include his wife: Jennifer Akers of Sidney, IA; children: Kendall Ward-Gloeb and husband Scott of Omaha, NE; Elizabeth Squires of Glenwood, IA; and Shaun Akers of Blue Eye, MO; mother: Debbie Boyd and husband Chris of Blue Eye, MO; father: Doug Hanshaw of Hastings, IA; grandmother: Deloris Akers of Stanton, IA; aunt: Angie Akers of Stanton, IA; uncles: Rick Akers of Red Oak, IA and Gary Akers and wife Angi of Grant, IA; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
