Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Sharon Perkins, age 61, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Thursday, November 11, 2004 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Sharon Marie Perkins was born July 23, 1943 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Vernon and Elinor (Lantz) Anderson. She was raised in the Red Oak area, baptized in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and graduated from Red Oak High School in 1961. She then attended and graduated from the American Academy of Beauty in Des Moines, Iowa. Sharon was united in marriage to Paul Edward Perkins on December 31, 1964 in Shenandoah, Iowa. They have lived all of their lives in the Coburg and Red Oak area. Sharon has been a beautician in Red Oak for over 42 years. For the past 14 years, Sharon has worked with Jeanne'z Hair Team. She was a member of the Business Women Bowling League. Preceding her in death were her parents: Vernon and Elinor Anderson; and father-in-law: Tom Perkins. Survivors include her husband: Paul Perkins of Red Oak, Iowa; daughter: Paula Perkins of Red Oak, Iowa; son: Stacy Perkins of Red Oak, Iowa; brother: Marvin Anderson of Windermere, Florida; 4 sisters: Patricia LaRose and husband Ron of Summerfield, Florida; Beverly Gillespie and husband Don of Red Oak, Iowa; Diane Stifle and husband Bill of Rogers, Minnesota; and Marlene Albertson and husband Terry of Bartlett, Iowa; Mother-in-law: Madalene Perkins of Tabor, Iowa; 3 brothers-in-law: John Perkins and wife MiHee of Des Moines, Iowa; Leo Perkins and wife Patricia of Littleton, Colorado; and Richard Perkins and wife Pat of Shenandoah, Iowa; 2 sisters-in-law: Mary Rose Roberts of Malvern, Iowa; and Rita Kennedy and husband Lyle of Tabor, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, November 15, 2004 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. George Hooper officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Sunday, November 14, 2004 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Heartland Hospice. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
