Birthplace: Council Bluffs, Iowa Resided In: Emerson, IA formerly Tucson, AZ Sharon Sue Foss, age 72, of Emerson, Iowa formerly of Tucson, Arizona, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Society in Red Oak after an extended illness. Sharon was born August 10, 1941 in Council Bluffs, Iowa the daughter of Virgil Wayne and Mary Elaine (Churchman) Curtis. She graduated from Strahan High School in 1960 and attended two years at Northwest Missouri State University. Sharon was united in marriage to David Foss on September 18, 1962 in Strahan, Iowa. They lived many different places throughout the years while David was in the military. Sharon moved back to Iowa in April of 2013. Preceding her in death were her parents and an infant sister: Donna Lorraine Curtis. Survivors include her husband: David Foss of Tucson, AZ; children: Tanya Foss and husband David Pritchard of Albany, NY and Scott Foss and wife Lily of Hesperia, CA; brother: Ron Curtis and wife Pat of Red Oak, IA; sister-in-law: Lola Wilson and husband Gale Hemmett of Bakersfield, CA; aunt: Lissie Curtis of Red Oak, IA; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 10 AM Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Ricky Rohrig, Good Samaritan Society, officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will take place at a later date at the Walnut Cemetery near Emerson, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the Good Samaritan Society Dove Suite. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
