Birthplace: Council Bluffs, Iowa Resided In: Henderson, Iowa Scott Magers, age 42, of Henderson, Iowa passed away Sunday, December 22, 2002 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Scott Richard Magers was born February 10, 1960 in Council Bluffs, Iowa the son of Richard and Judith (Coppock) Magers. Scott attended school at Nishna Valley with the class of 1978 and has lived his whole life in Mills County. Scott worked for RO MECH for the past 24 years in Red Oak. He enjoyed the sport of drag racing, country music, working on cars, and his pick up. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Survivors include his parents: Richard and Judy Magers of Emerson, Iowa; sister: Libby Grummert and her husband Vertis of Friendswood, Texas; 2 brothers: Drew Magers and his wife Angie of Emerson, Iowa; and Chad Magers of Council Bluffs, Iowa; niece: Sara Grummert of Friendswood, Texas; 2 nephews: Zachary Grummert of Friendswood, Texas; and Jud Magers of Emerson, Iowa; step-nephew: Ethan Wright of Emerson, Iowa, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Friday, December 27, 2002 at the Emerson United Methodist Church with Pastor Clifford Speck officiating. Burial will be in the Farm Creek Cemetery at Henderson, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Thursday, December 26, 2002 at the Emerson United Methodist Church in Emerson, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the Henderson Fire Department or the Macedonia Rescue Unit. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
