Birthplace: Mt. Carmel, Illinois Resided In: Emerson, Iowa Sandra Kay Viner, age 70, of Emerson, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Sandy was born May 24, 1950 in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. She graduated fropm Mt. Carmel High School. Sandy lived in California for many years working as a tool and die salesperson before moving to Emerson, Iowa. She met and married William "Bud" Viner on May 28, 1994 in Macedonia, Iowa. Over the years she worked at the Doctors Office, Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, the Shortsop in Emerson, and had her own quilting business for many years. She had many hobbies which included quilting and sewing, playing cards, playing the dulcimer, going to country music festivals, and clogging. She was a member of the Silver Creek Cloggers and the Macedonia United Methodist Church. Sandy also enjoyed going on trips wither sister Judy and spending time with family. She considered her dogs as part of the family and loved them very much. Survivors include her husband: Bud Viner of Emerson, IA; children: Cynthia Doan of Mt. Carmel, IL and Scotty Doan of Bellingham, Washington; step-children: Deborah Ann Doyle of Glenwood, IA; Jack Viner of Olympia, WA; Connie Viner of Emerson, IA; and Brenda Pace and husband Larry of Percival, IA; grandchildren: Chantz Doan, Christina Baca, Matthew Doan, Heather Doan, Jackson Doyle; Maggie Doyle; Christopher Viner and wife Amy; Benjamin Blank; Michael Blank; Chehala Goodenkauf and husband Buddy; Kasha Moore and husband Josh; and Lawrence Pace; great grandchildren: Christopher, Parker, Zayden, Josiah, Elias, Joyella, Arley, Albie, and Kennedy; sister: Judy Shular of Mt. Carmel, IL; brother: Gary Gideon of Jacksonville, IL; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 11 AM Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Macedonia, Iowa United Methodist Church. We will be following all social distancing guidelines and masks are encouraged. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
