Birthplace: Randolph, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Samuel Bolton, age 80, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Saturday, September 21, 2002 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Samuel Haley Bolton was born January 25, 1922 in Randolph, Iowa the son of Kelly and Eulah (Renfrow) Bolton. After High School Sam served in the Navy Sea Bees during World War II. He was united in marriage to Betty Hammer on March 5, 1947. Sam worked for the Teamsters Union and after retiring moved to Red Oak, Iowa where he and Betty lived until 1984 when they moved to Idaho. They lived in Idaho until 1991 when they moved back to Red Oak. Sam worked for the City of Red Oak at Evergreen Cemetery until June of this year. Survivors include his wife of 55 years: Betty Bolton of Red Oak, Iowa; son: Sam C. Bolton; daughters: Kay Chute, Sue Bolton, Pat McGrath, Jane Lamer, and Cindy Davis; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Freda Goin and Beatrice Lang of Vinton, Iowa; and Anna Rose Goodman of Diagonal, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. There will be no services for Sam; however, there will be open visitation at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel on Monday, September 23, 2002 from 8AM - 5 PM for any family and friends who would like to come and pay their respects to Mr. Bolton. Following cremation, Sam's ashes will be scattered in Montana, "God's Country". Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.
