Birthplace: Chicago, Illinois Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Ruth Dahl, age 92, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Saturday, September 16, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Care Center. Ruth Mabel Dahl was born December 1, 1913 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Gustav and Dora (Engstrom) Dahl. She was raised in Chicago where she graduated high school. Ruth worked for 7 years at the Mail Order Department of Montgomery Wards in Chicago before the family moved to Red Oak in 1942. She worked at the Thomas D. Murphy Company for 33 years retiring in 1976. Ruth was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and was a member of the 15-20 year club at Thomas D. Murphy Co. Preceding her in death were her parents; sister: Florence Nelson; and brother-in-law: Harold Nelson; an infant nephew; and nephews: Howard and Raymond Nelson. Survivors include niece: Ruth Dawson of Carson, Iowa; many great nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at the Emerson Cemetery in Emerson, Iowa. Family and friends will gather at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel at 9:30 AM to go to the cemetery in procession. There will be open visitation at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
