Obituary

Birthplace: Stanton, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Ruth M. Tull Barnard, age 90, of Red Oak, Iowa, entered into peaceful rest on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at the Red Oak Rehabilitation Center after a battle with cancer. Ruth M. Tull Barnard liked to tell people she was born on June 20, 1920 in the middle of a lake the daughter of Dan and Gladys (McHenry) Resh. Her birthplace was on the land that is now Viking Lake at Stanton, Iowa. Ruth graduated from Coburg High School in 1937 and enjoyed playing on the high school basketball team. She lived many years in Arizona where she was manager at Nibco in Phoenix until 1980. She then worked as an adjuster for Workers Compensation Claims for the State of Arizona retiring in 1985. Ruth moved back to Red Oak in 1986. Preceding her in death were her parents and husbands: Olin Tull and Richard Barnard. Survivors include her daughters: Patricia Dinville and husband Jerry of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Karen Smith and husband Dave of Glenwood, Iowa; Donna Harris and husband David of Phoenix, Arizona; and Joanna Rudge and husband Jerry of Peoria, Arizona; 16 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Tom Williamson of Asera Care Hospice officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Friday, October 15, 2010 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
