Birthplace: Carbon, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Russell Dean Cady, age 89, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away, Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Russ was born April 4, 1928 in Carbon, Iowa the son of Delmar Frank and Mary Ellen (Bycroft) Cady. He was raised in the Mt. Ayr, Iowa area. He came to Red Oak as a young man and worked at the Union Carbide Battery Company. This is where he met Jean M. Coy who became his wife on October 24, 1953 in Papillion, Nebraska. They made their home in Red Oak. Russ was a longtime member of the Red Oak Eagles Lodge and a former member of the Red Oak Elks Lodge. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, hunting mushrooms, and just having a good time enjoying life. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers: Sherman and Dale Cady; and sister: Luella Wymore. Survivors include his wife: Jean Cady of Red Oak, IA; children: Cheryl Titus and husband Mike of Sunrise Beach, MO; Debbie Martin and husband Steve of Ozark, MO; and Delmar Messer and wife Twyla of Liberty, MO; grandchildren: Chrissy Kellgren of Parkville, MO; Delmar Paul of Kansas City, MO; Scott Titus of Liberty, MO; and Cole Titus of Kansas City, MO; several great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends including good friend: JoAnn Wendt of Elliott, IA. Graveside funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel by 10:15 AM to go to the cemetery in procession. Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson's Foundation. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
