Birthplace: Grundy County, Missouri Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Rosie E. Whipple, age 88, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Sunday, November 14, 2004 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Rosie Eunice Whipple was born January 21, 1916 in Trenton, Missouri the daughter of Carl and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Dumler. She was raised in Trenton, Missouri graduating from the Trenton High School. The family moved to Iowa where Rosie met Robert Whipple. They were united in marriage on March 21, 1942 in Trenton, Missouri. They lived all of their married life in Red Oak, Iowa. Rosie worked at the Thomas D. Murphy Company for many years and was a member of the 15- 20 year club. She was also a member of the Red Oak Presbyterian Church and the Ruth Circle. Rosie was residing at the Red Oak Rehab and Care Center. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband: Robert Whipple on March 19, 1994; her brother: Reuben who was killed during WWII; and her sister: Rosella Asklof. Survivors include her son: Ben Whipple of Red Oak, Iowa; 3 nieces: Shirley Armstrong and husband Mike of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Glenda Gunder and husband Kirk of Bettendorf, Iowa; and Connie Taylor and husband Ron of Oswego, Oregon; nephew: Jim Asklof and wife Stephanie of Des Moines, Iowa; brother-in-law: Helmer Asklof of Villisca, Iowa and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Thursday, November 18, 2004 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Suzanne Hewett officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. There will be open visitation at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Presbyterian Church. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
