Birthplace: McPherson, KS Resided In: Emerson, IA Rosemary Therese Gray, age 83, of Emerson, Iowa, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Rosemary was born August 25, 1934 in McPherson, Kansas the daughter of John and Martha (Vanderstay) Menges. She graduated from St. Francis High School in Council Bluffs and attended one year of school at Benedictine College. Rosemary was united in marriage to Eugene Gray on September 24, 1955 in Council Bluffs. They lived many places throughout the United States and abroad while Gene served in the Military. They moved to the Red Oak, Iowa area in 1987. Rosemary was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for many years. She was an accomplished Bridge player, enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and was an excellent bowler. She was inducted into the Iowa Bowlers Hall of Fame. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Eugene Gray on July 17, 2015; son: David Gray on August 1, 2015; one brother; and six sisters. Survivors include her children: Debra Johnson; Steven Gray; Michael Gray and wife Jolene; Dennis Gray; Stanley Gray; Monica Wright and husband Dan; Douglas Gray and special friend Juli; Susan Gray; Marshall Gray and wife Trish; and Diane Gray; grandchildren: Lucas Johnson; Joshua Gray; Brett Gray and wife Erin; Trent Gray; Sable Gray; Victoria Gray; Tyler Gray; Elizabeth Gray; and Ryan Lawton; many step-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Jane Gray and Nicole Gray; brothers-in-law: Jerry Schulkey and Glenn Smallen; and other relatives and many friends. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 AM Monday, October 2, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rosary will be held 6 PM Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with visitation with the family to follow until 8 PM. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
