Birthplace: Imogene, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Rose "Monica" Bergren, age 75, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Red Oak. Rose "Monica" Bergren was born September 21, 1926 in Imogene, Iowa the daughter of John and Mary (Garrity) Regan. She was raised in Imogene and graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 1944. Monica was united in marriage to Clark Bergren on July 15, 1947 in Omaha, Nebraska. After their marriage they made Red Oak, Iowa their home. Monica worked for the Eveready Battery Company for over 34 years retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Catholic Church and the Red Oak Eagles Lodge. Clark preceded Monica in death on August 21, 1987. Survivors include her 3 daughters: Diane Bruning and her husband Dan of Stanton, Iowa; Connie Jarrett and her special friend Mike McCunn of Red Oak, Iowa; and Barbara Magnussen and her husband Roger of Red Oak, Iowa; 7 grandchildren: Kelly Elliott and her husband Don of Omaha, Nebraska; Doug Harris and his wife Breezy of Red Oak, Iowa; Melissa Magnussen of Red Oak, Iowa; Michael Bruning of Stanton, Iowa; Michelle Gilbert and her husband Tom of Omaha, Nebraska; Brian Vrba and his special friend Julie Reynolds of Red Oak, Iowa; and Jeff Vrba of Red Oak, Iowa; 6 great grandchildren: Zach and Lexie Gilbert; Jordan and Grant Vrba; Haley Frink; and Madison Elliott; 3 sisters: Eileen Brown of Fairfield, Iowa; Agnes Hensley of Omaha, Nebraska; and Genevieve Doyle of Imogene, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, August 29, 2002 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Father James Kleffman officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
