Rosalie Maye Peterson, age 83, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Rosalie was born August 14, 1941, in Leon, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Virginia (Jones) Dunbar. She was raised on a farm near Leon. Rosalie was united in marriage to Howard Peterson on February 20, 1959, in Davis City, Iowa. They lived in Omaha in the early years and eventually moved to Red Oak. She was a babysitter for many years and loved children. Rosalie also enjoyed camping, "visiting", and playing cards, especially with the Smith family.

Preceding her in were her parents, all of her siblings; and her husband: Howard. Survivors include her children: Howard Peterson, Jr. and wife LeAnn of Malvern, Iowa, and Russ Peterson of Red Oak, Iowa; grandchildren: Shay Peterson (Marie); Scott Peterson; Shaw Peterson; Ashley Soat (Eric); Jesse Allen; and Christine Allen; great grandchildren: Jase Peterson, Noah Peterson, Olivia Peterson, Lane Peterson, Aria Soat, and Aurora Soat; and other relatives and friends.

A graveside celebration of life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the Evergreen Cemetery.
