Ronald Dean Schooling, Sr., age 88, of Griswold, Iowa, passed away, Saturday, May 2, 2026, at his home. Ronald was born October 23, 1937, in Taylor County, Iowa. He graduated from Corning High School and attended college for a short time. Ron was united in marriage to Judy Wyckoff on December 17, 1961, in Red Oak, Iowa. Through the years, they made their home in Red Oak, Iowa, Wyoming, Arkansas, and Griswold, Iowa. Ron worked at Thos. D Murphy Co., Oakland Beef Packing, Union Carbide, and D & L. He was a wonderful organist and pianist and played in many different places throughout years. He taught piano and excelled in fixing most anything. Ron served his country in the National Guard retiring after 20 plus years of service.

Preceding him in death were his parents; son Chris Schooling; brother: Garry Schooling; and daughter-in-law: Julieanna Schooling. Survivors include his wife: Judy Schooling of Griswold, IA; children: Ronald Schooling, Jr. and wife Roxanne of Red Oak, IA; Mark Schooling of Griswold, IA; Roger Eugene “Gene” Schooling of Red Oak, IA; Kenneth Schooling of Griswold, IA; Tracy Schooling of Illinois; Jody Schooling of Red Oak, IA; and Lisa Carlson and husband Mark of Griswold, IA; grandchildren: Felicity Flores and husband Victor of Omaha, NE; Ronald Schooling III and wife Carolina of Omaha, NE; Arlo Schooling and wife Christy of Shenandoah, IA; Ashlie Schooling of Ft. Dodge, IA; Cody Gourd of Ft. Dodge, IA; Kenton Schooling and wife Tiffany of Council Bluffs, IA; Whisper Ford and husband Steven of Shenandoah, IA; Tara Jones of Red Oak, IA, Keegan Jones and wife Teesha of Red Oak, IA; Samantha Ranney and husband Philip of Red Oak, IA; Brian Schooling and wife Kayla of Red Oak, IA; Thomas Schooling of Red Oak, IA; Nikolus Schooling of Council Bluffs, IA; Kristian Schooling of Red Oak, IA; Joshua Schooling of Red Oak, IA; Anna Beaman and husband Mark of Red Oak, IA; Anthony Schooling and wife Lexie of Red Oak, IA; Katie Schooling of Red Oak, IA; Kristoffer Martinson of Griswold, IA; Amanda Bedsworth of Clarinda, IA; Mikeal Carlson of Clarinda, IA; and Willow Nicholson and spouse Felix of Clarinda, IA; many great grandchildren; brother: Larry Schooling of Red Oak, IA; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, May 8, 2 026, at the LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the LeRette Funeral Chapel.
