Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Roger G. Pendleton, age 48, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Roger was born September 3, 1968 in Red Oak, Iowa the son of Donald and Lois (Buffon) Pendleton. He graduated from Red Oak Community High School in 1987 and Iowa State University in 1989 with an Associate Degree in Agriculture. He returned to Red Oak and began farming. He was united in marriage to Amy Neumeister on September 11, 1993 in Red Oak, Iowa. Roger was a long time member of Stratton United Methodist Church where he served as Administrative Board Chairman, Past President of Montgomery County Farm Bureau, member of Iowa Corn Growers Association, and Mills Montgomery County Cattlemen's Association. He loved boating and trips to Okoboji, hunting, Iowa State Basketball especially March Madness, farming and harvest, and spending time with his family. Roger loved being a farmer and took great pride in his land and equipment as was known to be a great welder. Preceding him in death were his grandparents: Floyd and Flora Buffon and Bud and Blanche Pendleton; brother: Rickey Pendleton; father-in-law: Roger Neumeister; and mother-in-law: Charlotte Neumeister Miller. Survivors include his wife: Amy Pendleton; children: Maria and Abby Pendleton; parents: Donald and Lois Pendleton; brother: Randy Pendleton and wife Connie all of Red Oak, IA; sister: Linda Huber and husband Steve of Council Bluffs, IA; sister-in-law: Ann Gigstad and husband Jeff of Red Oak, IA; nieces and nephews: Arielle Vollers and husband Kaleb of Ft. Worth, TX; Blake Huber of Council Bluffs, IA; Kylie Pendleton and Landon Gigstad of Red Oak, IA; great nephew: Koltyn Vollers of Ft. Worth, TX; many aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Gold Auditorium of the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Maria and Abby Pendleton Education Fund. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
