Birthplace: Red Oak, IA Resided In: Red Oak, IA Roxie Dean "Rock" Allen, age 61, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, May 22, 2018. Rock was born April 18, 1957 in Red Oak, Iowa the son of Donald and Joan (Eubanks) Allen. He graduated from Red Oak Community High School in 1975. He was united in marriage to Aimee McCunn on February 6, 1977 in Platte City, Missouri. That same year he entered the United States Marines serving until 1981. He then attended Universal Technical Institute where he studied auto body repair. Over the years he worked in that business in both Texas and Red Oak. He moved to Texas in 1986 where had his own body shop and then moved back to Red Oak in 1992. He worked for Viner's in Malvern, Hawkeye Ford in Red Oak, and a body shop in Glenwood. He also worked other jobs throughout the years including Direct TV, O'Reilly Auto Parts, FRESCO, PPI, and NSK. His hobbies included motorcycles, hot rod cars, demo cars, playing softball, hunting, and spending time with his grandkids. He was known to have a kind heart and a great sense of humor. And for those who knew Rock well knew that he had a loud bark. Preceding him in death were his mother: Joan Allen; brothers: Ryan and Robin; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Merle and Phyllis McCunn; and brother-in-law: Tony McCunn. Survivors include his wife: Aimee Allen of Red Oak; sons: Aaron Allen and wife Debbie of Red Oak and Ryan Allen of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren: Sylas Allen of Emerson, IA; Kaelynn Allen of Red Oak; step-grandchildren: Trinity Anderson and Joslyn Anderson of Council Bluffs, IA; father: Donald Allen of Red Oak; brother: Richard Allen and wife Iona of Corning, IA; brother-in-law: Steve McCunn and wife Marilyn of Lake Dallas, TX; sisters-in-law: Debi Slaughter and husband Dan of Red Oak; Joni Rolofson and husband Danny of Red Oak; and Tracy Taylor of Red Oak; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends. Punk, Scroggs, Troy, Scooter, Skid, Preacher Dan, brother Rick, and cousin George, he loved you all greatly. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Faith Community Church. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
