Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Henderson, Iowa Robert Doyle Townsend, age 72, of Henderson, Iowa passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Robert served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was a longtime member of the American Legion in Henderson, Iowa. Bob worked for McIntyre Chevrolet in Council Bluffs retiring after 38 years. Survivors include his wife Carol; sons: Jake, Damian, and Lance; daughters: Kelly and Dawn; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister: Becky; brother: Tim; and sister-in-law: Joan. Graveside memorial services will be held at a later date at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Tennessee or the Henderson American Legion. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
