Birthplace: Rural Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Robert William Querry, age 82, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the Red Oak Healthcare Community. Robert was born October 3, 1932 in Montgomery County, Iowa the son of Vern and Edith (Black) Querry. He graduated from Red Oak High School in 1951 and later served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon his return from service, Robert was united in marriage to Ruth Anderson on October 10, 1954 in Red Oak, Iowa. Bob started farming in 1956 and moved into Red Oak in 2013. Robert was a longtime member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, American Legion, and Farm Bureau. He was also a member and huge supporter of the YMCA. His greatest joy was the time spent with his family. Survivors include his wife: Ruth Querry of Red Oak, IA; children: Gary Querry and wife Linda of Red Oak, IA; Nancy Roed and husband Dave of Burlington, IA; and Linda Bates and husband Tom of Macedonia, IA; grandchildren: Travis Querry and wife Stacy of Red Oak, IA; Lisa Beresiwsky and husband Evash of Seattle, WA; Brett Querry of Red Oak, IA; Ben Roed and wife Peggy of Bedford, IA; Kara Plath of Burlington, IA; Kyle Roed and wife Sarah of Cedar Falls, IA; Timothy Roed of Iowa City, IA; Branden Stoural and wife Kelsi of Hooper, NE; Andrew Bates and wife Katie of Omaha, NE; and Kimberly Bates of Omaha, NE; great grandchildren: Grace and Josie Goldapp; Ruby Querry; John Beresiwsky; Gabe Roed; Bella and Lexie Plath; Jude and Thea Roed; Joshua and Elijah Stoural; and Wilder and Scout Bates; brother-in-law: Roy C. Anderson and wife Kay of Omaha, NE; sister-in-law: Doris Oldre of Minnesota; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the YMCA, or the Red Oak Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
