Birthplace: Wales, Iowa Resided In: Clarinda, IA formerly Elliott Robert James Morgan, age 86, of Clarinda, Iowa formerly Elliott, Iowa passed away Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Goldenrod Manor in Clarinda. Robert was born November 9, 1926 near Wales, Iowa the son of Glendon Thomas and Beth (Imrie) Morgan. He graduated from Wales Lincoln High School in 1944 and entered into the United States Army during WWII. Upon his return home, Bob started farming. He later sold insurance at which time he met Shirley Garrett. They were married February 19, 1966 in Omaha, Nebraska. Bob was also Elliott City Clerk for 26 years. Bob and Shirley lived in Elliott until moving to Clarinda, Iowa in 2004. Bob was a longtime member of the Elliott Business and Betterment Association and was on the Montgomery County Conservation Board for over 25 years. Bob was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Elliott for many years and the United Methodist Church in Clarinda. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother: Dorothy Morgan; sister: Marilyn Johnson; and brother: Tom Morgan. Survivors include his wife: Shirley Morgan of Clarinda, IA; daughters: Julie Gaudan and husband Chris of Phoenixville, PA and Jayne Cabeen and husband Dave of New Market, IA; grandchildren: Joseph Robert Gaudan of Phoenixville, PA; and Justin Cabeen and Sarah Cabeen of New Market, IA; sisters: Marge Eshelman and husband Roger of Ogden, IA and Anne Sapp and husband Dennis of Gig Harbor, WA; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Center Ridge Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Goldenrod Manor in Clarinda. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
