Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Emerson, Iowa Robert McMullen age 41, of Emerson, Iowa formerly of Henderson, Iowa passed away Friday, January 2, 2004 at the Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs. Robert Nathan McMullen was born December 19, 1962, in Red Oak, Iowa, the son of Gordon and Betty McMullen. Robert was raised in the Henderson area and attended Nishna Valley Schools. Robert later attended Iowa Western Community College where he earned a degree in Heating and Air Conditioning. He lived most of his life in the Southwest Iowa area. He was a member of the Henderson Christian Church. Robert enjoyed playing his guitar, being with his children and taking things apart to see if you could put them back together. He was also a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Robert was preceded in death by his parents: Gordon McMullen and Betty J. McMullen Core. He is survived by his children: Alec and Kaila of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 4 sisters: Claudia Hoover and husband Herb of Emerson, Iowa; Beverly Boulware and husband Ed of Parkville, Missouri; Ginny Houston and husband Bill of Omaha, Nebraska; and Julie Rowden and husband Bob of Fairfield, California; brother: Brian McMullen and wife Kim of Destin, Florida; step-father: Ray Core and Jan of Henderson, Iowa; step-son: Jim Core and wife Sue of Adel, Iowa; 4 aunts; several nieces and nephews; and many dear and close friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 5, 2004 at the Henderson Christian Church with the Pastor Bob Jones and the Pastor Brad Schroeder officiating. Burial will take place at a later date following cremation. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak is in charge of arrangements.
