Robert William Jones, age 94, of Clarinda, Iowa, formerly of Goodland, Kansas, passed away Friday, August 12, 2022, at the Goldenrod Manor. Robert was born August 7, 1928, in Ruskin, Nebraska, the son of Jacob and Grace (Henby) Jones. He was raised in Nebraska where he graduated high school and started farming. Robert was united in marriage to Leora Arnold on August 14, 1949, in Chester, Nebraska. They moved to Goodland, Kansas, in 1959, where Robert was a realtor for nearly 60 years. Robert was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Goodland since 1959 and was a 50 plus year member of the Goodland Elks Lodge. He and Leora moved to Clarinda, Iowa, in 2017, to be near their daughter, Janet Richardson. Preceding him in death were his parents and brothers: Morris, Don, Grant, and Wayne Jones. Survivors include his children: Janet Richardson (Rolland) of Clarinda, IA; Randall Jones (Mary Lou) of Colby, KS; and Lori Jones (Nicole) of Westminster, CA; grandchildren: Derek Richardson (Stephanie) of Coffeyville, KS; Gregory Jones (Kira) of Salina, KS; Amy Beal (James) of Clarinda, IA; Brent Richardson (Christine) of Hot Springs, SD; and Carrie Malusky (Ed) of Festus, MO; 13 great grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends. Graveside memorial services will be held in Goodland, Kansas, at a later date. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak, Iowa, is assisting the family with cremation services.
