Obituary

Birthplace: Chandler, Oklahoma Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Rildabell L. Phillips, age 87, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Monday, February 18, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Care Center after an extended illness. Rilda Phillips was born March 2, 1920 in Chandler, Oklahoma the daughter of John Forrest and Mable Mae (Tharp) Ingrim. The family moved to Iowa when Rilda was very young. She graduated from the Shenandoah High School in 1939 and was united in marriage to Eldred Phillips on June 22, 1941 in Red Oak, Iowa. After their marriage they moved to Red Oak where Rilda lived until she passed away. Rilda was a longtime employee of the Union Carbide Battery Company and a longtime member of the First Baptist Church. She was also a former member of the Order of Eastern Star. One of her favorite past times was sewing. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Eldred Phillips on July 16, 2005; and three brothers: Robert, Wendell, and Junior Ingrim. Survivors include her daughter: Marsha Phillips of Red Oak, Iowa; sisters: Katie Selser of Red Oak, Iowa and Viola Carpenter of Boise, Idaho; brothers: Ray Ingrim and wife Warrene of Erie, Colorado and Roscoe Ingrim of Riverside, California; sister-in-law: Jean Bowman of Seattle, Washington; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, February 23, 2008, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Len Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Friday, February 22, 2008 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Heartland Hospice or the Montgomery County Animal Rescue. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
