Birthplace: Omaha, NE Resided In: Shenandoah, IA Richard Clark Shurter, age 59, of Shenandoah, Iowa, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital. Richard was born April 17, 1957 in Omaha, Nebraska the son of Jack and Mary Lou (Clark) Shurter. He was raised in Omaha graduating from Burke High School in 1975. He was united in marriage to Kim Shook on May 5, 2005 in Omaha, Nebraska. They lived in Elk City, Nebraska before moving to Shenandoah, Iowa in 2011. Richard was a mechanic and had worked for Paul's Sinclair Station in Omaha and most recently Southside Plumbing and Aksarben Sewer maintaining the fleet of vehicles. He loved fishing, hunting, and doing any kind of mechanic work. Preceding him in death were his parents and brothers: Glenn and James Shurter. Survivors include his wife: Kim Shurter; sisters: Teri Meyer (Bruce) and Jacqui Mustoe (Chris); children: Charla and Patrick Shurter, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, other family and friends. There will be no services at this time. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
