Birthplace: Skidmore, Missouri Resided In: Shenandoah, Iowa Richard "Rick" Schlup, age 61, of Shenandoah, Iowa, entered into rest on November 14, 2020 in Omaha, Nebraska. Rick was born on March 4, 1959 in Skidmore, Missouri the son of Stuart and Virginia (Young) Schlup. He grew up in Trimble and Rockport, Missouri, where he graduated from high school. In 1980, Rick was united in marriage to Linda Hamilton, from that union came three sons; Donald, Richard Jr., and Nathanial. Later in life, he married Lorisa Buckley on October 12, 1994. Three children came from their union; Gina, Stuart and Jimmy (Jameson). Throughout his life he spent time running an automotive shop called Rick's Automotive that was located in Elmo, Missouri. He also worked at ROMECH, in Red Oak. He enjoyed spending his days working in his garage tinkering on vehicles and anything mechanical he could get his hands on. Rick also loved taking care of his dogs, Oreo, Coco and Abby. Rick had many grandchildren who will greatly miss him and he was one of the best Grandpas. He is preceded in death by his mother: Virginia Ruth Jane Young-Schlup; his father: Stuart Grant Schlup; sisters: Judy, Debbie, and Ellen; brothers: Larry and Ronald; nephew: Allen; niece: Pamela; granddaughter: Jasmine Angel Marie; and his longtime pup, Casper. Left to cherish Rick's memory are his children: Gina Best and husband Robert of Red Oak, Stuart Schlup of Red Oak, Jimmy "Jameson" Schlup of Red Oak; brother: Michael and wife Pam of Hiawatha, KS, sister: Carolyn and husband Allen of Rockport, MO, sister: Sandy of Hamburg, IA; grandchildren: Brandon and fiancée Shawnee of Springfield, MO; Cameron and wife Julia, Megan, Ashley, Jessie, Preston, Leia, Kaitlyn, and Jaxon all of Red Oak; and Michael of Springfield, MO; and many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all of his remaining family and friends. No services are scheduled at this time. Memorials may be directed to the family. Nelson-Boylan Funeral Chapel in Red Oak is in charge of the arrangements.
