Birthplace: Decatur, Iowa Resided In: Stanton, IA formerly Elliott, IA Richard N. "Dick" Reynolds, age 70, of Stanton, Iowa formerly Elliott, Iowa passed away, Friday, May 7, 2010 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Richard Norlyn "Dick" Reynolds was born October 23, 1939 in Decatur, Iowa the son of Robert and Phyllis (Houck) Reynolds. He graduated from the LeRoy, Iowa High School and was united in marriage to Judy Tolly on July 11, 1959 in Osceola, Iowa. They lived in the Baxter area until moving to Elliott, Iowa in 1975. Richard managed the Hawkeye Lumber Company in Red Oak for many years and then was a custodian for Stanton Care Center for many years retiring in 2004. Dick enjoyed woodworking, camping, hunting, riding motorcycles, and traveling. He was a long time member of the Elliott Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Fire Chief. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife: Judy Reynolds on August 20, 2000; daughter: Bobbi Stoneking on April 17, 2007; an infant grandson: Christopher Reynolds; and brother-in-law: John Tolly. Survivors include his children: Sandy Johnson and husband Kevin of Red Oak, Iowa; Jim Reynolds and wife Debbie of Red Oak, Iowa; and Todd Pennock and wife Courtney of Elliott, Iowa; son-in-law: Mark Stoneking of Elliott, Iowa; grandchildren: Angie Burnison and husband Gary of Elliott, Iowa; Ryan Stoneking of Elliott, Iowa; Brandy Wells and husband Tim of Boxelder, South Dakota; Jennifer Williams and husband Rusty of Red Oak, Iowa; Alana Johnson of Red Oak, Iowa; Brandon Reynolds of Red Oak, Iowa; Erin Reynolds of Red Oak, Iowa; Amber Gonzales and husband Ignacio of Kansas City, Missouri; Tabitha Smith and husband Cory of Elliott, Iowa; Caleb Walter of Red Oak, Iowa; Haylee Pennock of Elliott, Iowa; and Whitney Pennock of Elliott, Iowa; great grandchildren: Keegan and Logan Williams; Christian Jones; Lonnie Smith; Alana, Alina, and Sammy Gonzales; Tanner and Trevor Burnison; and Sydney Stoneking; brothers: Gary Reynolds and wife Karen of Baxter, Iowa; Bill Reynolds and wife Allison of Decatur City, Iowa; and Joe Reynolds of Prescott, Iowa; sisters-in-law: Barb Tolly of Rochelle, Illinois and Joyce Greenlee and husband Don of Humeston, Iowa; brother-in-law: Jeff Tolly of Steeleville, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dr. Eric Kutzli officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery at Elliott, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Monday, May 10, 2010 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Elliott Volunteer Fire Department. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel, Red Oak, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
