Birthplace: Hamburg, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Richard Lee Price, age 61, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Red Oak Healthcare Community after an extended illness. Richard was born May 21, 1953 in Hamburg, Iowa the son of Willis and Shirley (Cavner) Price. Richard was united in marriage to Linda Mae Lillie on May 21, 1977 in Rock Port, Missouri. They lived in Imogene, Iowa where Richard worked for Imogene Grain until going to work for ROMECH as a welder. He worked at ROMECH for 30 years and lived in Red Oak for the past 25 years. Richard had many hobbies including raising horses. He was a member of the American Paint Horse Association and American Quarter Horse Association. He enjoyed playing his guitar with his friend John Sankey, hunting, fishing, collecting John Deere tractors and implements, and farming and baling hay with Tony and Nate Johnson and their families. Preceding him in death were his parents and sister: Linda Parsons. Survivors include his wife: Linda Price of Red Oak; sons: Bill Price and wife Jasclyn of Farragut, IA; Brian Price of Red Oak; Tony Akers and fiance Amy Renn of Red Oak; and James Akers of Red Oak; 25 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters: Sharon Kalkas of Omaha, NE; Marjorie Duran of Westboro, MO; and Tammy Lukehart and husband Rocky of Red Oak; sisters-in-law: Rita Haskin and husband Gary of Shenandoah, IA and Connie Patterson and husband Gary of Shenandoah; brother-in-law: Stanley Knight and wife Wendy of Terra Haute, IN many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Friday, August 22, 2014 at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
