Griswold, Iowa Richard L. Paulsen, age 69, of Griswold, Iowa passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa. Richard Lee Paulsen was born August 14, 1940 in rural Griswold, Iowa the son of Johnnie and Lillian "Lurene" (Jarvis) Paulsen. He graduated from Griswold High School in 1958 and served in the United States Navy until 1963. Richard was united in marriage to Ann DeWitt on February 8, 1960 in Redondo Beach, California. After returning from his service in the Navy, Richard worked for Paulsen Trucking. He later was a trailer salesman for American Trailers and retired from Timpte Trailers in 2003. He was a member of the Griswold American Legion, the North American Hunting and Fishing Club, and the Atlantic Elks Lodge. He enjoyed Coyote hunting, Elk hunting, boating and water skiing. Richard especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Preceding Richard in death were his parents and a grandson: Tucker Paulsen. Survivors include his wife: Ann Paulsen of Griswold, Iowa; son: Terry Paulsen and wife Dawn of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; daughter: Tammy Roberts and husband Noah of Spirit Lake, Iowa; grandchildren: Kayleigh Miller of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Manndi Miller and Shane Miller of Spirit Lake, Iowa; Noel Roberts and Sage Roberts of Spirit Lake, Iowa; and Patrick Paulsen of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; sisters: Shirley Merritt of Omaha, Nebraska and Sandra Wagner and husband Jim of Griswold, Iowa; nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
There will be no services at this time.
