Obituary

Richard A. Larson, age 74 of Red Oak, IA passed away on Saturday March 30, 2024, at the Red Oak Rehab and Care Center in Red Oak, Iowa, after battling an illness of Dementia.

Richard A Larson was born on May 25, 1949, In Villisca, Iowa, the son of Gerald D. "Mike" and Beatrice L. "Bea" Larson. He attended school at Villisca Community School District, where he graduated. He then attended Tech School in Des Moines IA.

Richard enjoyed Riding his Harley, hunting, fishing, boating and family.

Richard worked at various jobs in Red Oak, Iowa, and started his full time Career at Kinder Morgan (Natural Gas Pipeline) where he had worked for over 42 years, finally retiring in Texas at his lake home.

Preceding him in death were his beloved parents. Left to cherish his memories are his dog, (Buddy), sister, Sandy Bierbaum (Larry) of Essex, IA, special niece, Missy Bierbaum (Rick Germar) of Red Oak, IA, nephew, Mike Bierbaum (Kris) of Essex, IA, great nephew, Braden Mozingo (Will) of Red Oak IA, great nieces: Bridgett Elwood (Jacob) & Brandi Sands all of Red Oak IA, Emma Bierbaum of Essex IA, great great nieces: Racine, Rozlynn, & Rumer Elwood of Red Oak IA; and many other relatives and friends.  The family wishes to thank Maranda Webb-Giddens for always taking care of Richard while he was living in Texas.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5-6 PM Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel at 1995 G Ave, in Red Oak. A celebration of life will follow at the Red Oak Eagles Lodge until 8 PM.

Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
