Birthplace: Omaha, NE Resided In: Red Oak, IA Raymond John "Hap" Neligh, age 89, of Red Oak, Iowa formerly of Scribner, and Crowell, Nebraska passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society. Raymond was born April 10, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska the son of Harry and Helen (Lasse) Neligh. He lived all of his life in the Crowell, Nebraska area until moving to Scribner several years ago and then to Red Oak Good Samaritan Society in Red Oak, Iowa in 2012. He was married to Mary O'Dell and two children were born to this union: Harry and Shirley. He later was united in marriage to Maudine Morse. He worked for Omaha Packing Plant in his early work years, then the carnival for several years. Hap retired from the packing house in West Point, Nebraska after many years of service. He loved fishing, hunting and gardening. He even sold produce from his produce stand for many years. Raymond always enjoyed playing games like Checkers, Pitch, and Dominos. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife: Maudine; and sister: Ruth. Survivors include his son: Harry Neligh and wife Marilyn of Red Oak, IA; daughter: Shirley Teneyck and husband Larry of Wamego, KS; 6 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside memorial services will be held 10 AM Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Pilot Grove Cemetery in rural Montgomery County, Iowa with Pastor Terry McClain officiating. Raymond's wishes were to have everyone arrive in casual attire for his service. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
