Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Raymond Lee Briggs, age 49, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at his home after an extended illness. Raymond Lee Briggs was born January 5, 1968 in Red Oak, Iowa the son of Harlan and Mildred (Brown) Briggs. He lived most of his life in Montgomery County, Iowa graduating high school from Stanton Community Schools. He served in the Army for a short time. He drove truck for many years, worked at TRACO, and was a supervisor at MINSA. He enjoyed fishing, the Iowa Hawkeyes, barbecuing, hanging out with his friends, and was known as the "Candy Man" buying candy for all the kids. Preceding him in death were his parents; son: Dylan Briggs; sister: Michelle Briggs; grandparents: William and Pheba Brown and Clarence and Becky Berg. Survivors include his wife: Pam Parker of Red Oak, IA; children: Dalton Briggs and wife Amanda of Watertwon, WI; Devon Briggs and Dixon Briggs of Red Oak, IA; step-daughters: Barb Lombard and Brittany Parker of Red Oak, IA; step-sons: Andrew Parker and Shawn Parker of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Lyllie Briggs and Scarlett Briggs of Watertown, WI; Madie Parker, Garrett Resh, Alyssa Resh, and Mariah Lombard of Red Oak, IA; sisters: Kim Briggs and wife Jane Voboril of Lincoln, NE; Teri Walters and husband Mark of Lincoln, NE; and Shelley Hurley of Lincoln, NE; brother: William Briggs and wife Wendy of Red Oak, IA; brothers-in-law: Paul Mertz and wife Jennifer of Red Oak, IA and Steve Mertz of Red Oak, IA; uncle: John Brown and wife Marsha of Malvern, IA; aunts: Doris Shaver of Red Oak, IA and June Briggs of Red Oak, IA; special friends of the family, the Sexton family; and Ray's dog named Iowa and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 2 PM Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Red Oak Eagles Lodge. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Ray's wife, Pam Parker. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with cremation services.
