Birthplace: Rural Corning, Iowa Resided In: Elliott, Iowa Raymond L. Bressler, age 68, of Elliott, Iowa passed away Saturday March 3, 2007 at his home in Elliott. Raymond Leroy Bressler was born June 16, 1938 in rural Corning, Iowa the son of Dale S. and Eula D. (Allison) Bressler. The family lived in Adams County and Montgomery County before moving to Junction City, Kansas. They moved back to Corning in 1950 and Ray graduated from Corning High School in 1957 where he enjoyed playing football and wrestling. He was united in marriage to Joyce Gillespie in 1958. Six children were born to this union. He later was united in marriage to Cheryl Salisbury in 1970 and to this union was born a son. Ray was united in marriage to Lloyt Lamb in 1979. She preceded him in death in 1988. Ray worked for Grays Auto Body Shop for 32 years and was an Iowa Army National Guardsman for 28 1/2 years. Ray was a member of the Red Oak Eagles Lodge and was a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for 12 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister: Lola May; daughter: Shelly; wife: Lloyt; step-son: Aaron Larson; step-daughter: Sherry Kinser; and grandson: Dillon. Survivors include his children: Glen Bressler of Omaha, Nebraska; Tammy Bressler of Roanoke, Virginia; Debbie Fietz and husband Randall of Pearl River, Louisiana; Mike Bressler of California; Jackie Porter and husband Allen of Red Oak, Iowa; and Tim Bressler and wife Tina of Red Oak, Iowa; step-children: Amy Larson; Terry Dunkeson of Omaha, Nebraska; Kelly Dunkeson of Washington; Kevin Dunkeson of Oregon; Shawn Dunkeson and wife Sandy of Elliott, Iowa; and Nicole Gary and husband Mark of Atlantic, Iowa; many grandchildren; sisters: Irene Strait of Chariton, Iowa; and Ina Ray of Creston, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, March 10, 2007 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Al Moore officiating. There will be open visitation at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
